Brief Profile:
Currently I have taken a break from my career in television. I’m interested in shifting to print mediaas
I want to get involved more in writing, and utilize my creative writing skills.
I am an individual with 10 years of experience in Kannada Media. I have been working with technical an
d content part of television production over the ye ars, and got excellent command over the language of
television. Blogging, writing and reading have beenmy hobbies. I love reading, knowing, writing and pr
acticing developmental and environmental aspects.
Work Experience:
1. Working for SUVARNA NEWS 24X7 as ASSOCIATE PRODUCER (now on maternity leave)
Responsibilities:
1. Looked after overall Live news and special programs production
2. Managed a team of 40+ production associates and video editors
3. Responsible for overall on‐air video quality
4. Worked for relaunch of Asianet Suvarna as Suvarna news 24X7, along with Mr.Ravi Hegde.
5. Scripted and produced Business Round Up‐2009 (attached script on Sathyam Scam, written for round up)
2. Worked for KASTHURI MEDIA PVT.LTD. (01-08-2007 - 30-09-2009)
Responsibilities handled in News and Program content:
Worked as coordinator for districts, instrumental in story planning and coordination for district news, in moffusil desk.
1. Cordinating daily newsflow
2. Getting daily updates and reactions related to developing stories
3. Monitoring the assignments from district reporters
4. Planning special stories
5. Selecting special stories for Prime bulletins
Worked for special program on Loksabha election, for a month.
1. Planned and handled daily episodes for Sangrama-2009 – daily half-an-hour Constituency Profile Program.
2. Program contained 1) The profile of constituency 2)The performance-review of existing MP, with information on the
utilization of funds and developmental works undertaken, 3) Brief of existing problems tobe addressed in
the constituency
3. Every episode was of half-an-hour duration.
4. Program was a blend of lot of information with the language of television, with suitable bites of concerned
personalities.
5. It also echoed people’s sentiments in the constituency, and predicted trend in the constituency.
6. Lot of research was involved in this program (Sample script copies attached)
Worked as the producer for a woman oriented program JAGRUTHI, a daily informative program in documentary mode, a
new attempt in DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION (10am Mon-Sat).
Program involved intense research and field work. It ran till 500 episodes of which I was instrumental in almost
400 episodes.
Lead a team of 7 members
Developed them as all rounders, in input, scripting,
Was instrumental in deciding the topics, basic frame work of episodes and the presentation mode
Guided team members in input/ scripting/ editing / output, program production, promotion etc.
Experience in Advertising
1. Understood and practiced media marketing and advertising
2. Was responsible for media planning, have successfully planned & executed TV campaigns in Karnataka and AP.
3. Worked out and produced many FM advertisements and TVCs.
4. Client servicing, creative concepts
5. Co ordination with media (FM/ Print/TV), outdoor and other outsourcing units.
6. Handled direction for corporate films and Audio‐visual presentations
Worked in ETV News, as a News production Associate (26 Sept 2000- 4th April 2006).
Here I got trained up in A-Z of visual media, right from scripting to on‐air production. As a senior I trained up
juniors, and
was involved in encorporating many value additions.
My skills:
1. I have a strong understanding of media be it reporting, content, presentation, production,
creative communication, marketing or advertising.
2. I like experimenting, creating new things with new ideas and incorporating them in different ways
3. Willing to learn new things, willing to take up new challenges and responsibilities
4. Interested in civic, environmental, and developmental issues if I get into content section in media.
