Educational Credentials
• M.A. English literature with 1st rank, from Gulbarga University, Gulbarga, India, in 2000. Having two Gold medals to my credit – for scoring highest number of marks in the subjects, Indian Literature in English and Translations of Indian literary masterpieces in English.

• B.Sc with Electronics, Mathematics and Physics as major optional, from Vijayanagara College, Hospet, Bellary - from the academic year 1996 to 1998.

Works so far as a Translator
• Due to my educational background as well as my personal interest, I have worked as a freelancer translating works for various publications. My works so far include,

a) For Abhinava Publishers, Bangalore, I had translated the selected parts of an interview with Mr. Noam Chomsky, a world renowned educationist and great, eminent thinker of our time.

b) For Prism Publishers, Bangalore, I had translated literary articles on Mr. T P Kailasam, a renowned playwright in Kannada literature.

c) For Divya Jeevana Sangha Maha Sabha, Bangalore, the English version of their book, ‘Positive aide to the Peace of mind’ into Kannada.

d) For Rashtrotthana Parishath, a social service organization, Bangalore, I had translated the socio-cultural articles from English to Kannada.

• I have translated the children’s literature for a private social organization and the works are named as Bharatha-Bharathi children’s volumes. In that series, the book I am currently translating is about the eminent writer and freedom fighter Smt. Sarojini Naidu.

• For one of the famous monthly magazine in Kannada ‘Hosatu’, run by Sri. G Ramakrishna, I had an opportunity to translate two of Vaikom Muhammed Basheer’s stories from English (original Malayalam) to Kannada. The stories are:

a) If the war is to end – Ee Yuddha Mugeetandra and
b) A man - Aapadbhandava

• Several literary research articles have been translated from English to Kannada for Hampi Kannada University, Hampi.

• I have completed working online as a Research Associate for Columbia Law University and London School of Economics, jointly in translating and transcribing their legal documents and interviews for an international research project. The work involved translation and transcription of the recorded voice files from Kannada to English. The proficiency and fluency in the local Kannada dialects of Bijapur, Gulbarga and Raichur have gained me this opportunity and have explored and expanded my experience level in the world of Translation and have sharpened my language level as well.

• Currently working as a freelance translator and providing the qualitative and timely service to the orgs and universities. For Hampi Kannada University, I have translated the articles from English to Kannada, about India and World Culture, a book written by Sri. V.K. Gokak.

• Also working as a freelance translator for iNetframe technologies, translating the Wikipedia pages from English to Kannada.

Professional Experience as a technical writer
• From 2002 to 2003, I’ve worked for as a technical writer and simultaneously have also worked as a content developer and document specialist for IntelSoft Pvt. Ltd., for their knowledge based software package.

• From 2003 to 2006, I have worked as a technical writer for Integra Software Services. As Integra out-sources its employees, I had an opportunity to work for Philips Software Center as technical writer and web content developer. In Philips, I was honored with the Best Employee award for the contributions made to the Configuration Management team’s website, which was part of the Consumer Electronics division.

• While serving in Philips Medical Systems (a unit of Philips Software Services) as a technical writer and content developer, I had an opportunity to interact with the medical system engineers who were developing the software for scanning machines, x-ray machines etc., in writing the manuals for them.

Nature of work as a technical writer
• It was my responsibility to create, write, edit and proof-read the technical user manuals, installation-manuals, service guides for various kind of end-users. The main task was to interact with the software developers and engineers in creating the user manuals and updating the same as per the requirements, aiming the common end user.

• I was also creatively involved in creating the web pages, images, and designing the newsletters as well developing the content for their company websites.

Professional Experience as a lecturer
• From 2000 to 2002, I’ve worked as a lecturer, teaching English language and communication skills in Maharani’s Arts College for women(one of the best reputed institution in South India), Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and MEI Polytechnic College, Bangalore, simultaneously on a part-time basis.

• I also have taken classes for postgraduate students teaching them English as a primary and optional subject.
