History
28 year old Vanuatu is in its youthful stage. A troupe of colonizers, each speaking a distinct language, migrated to the New Hebrides in the millennia preceding European exploration in the 18th century resulting in complex linguistic diversity. Native to this archipelago are The British and French, who settled in the 19thCentury in the New Hebrides agreed in 1906 to an Anglo-French Condominium, which administered the islands until independence in 1980. And the year 1980 saw the adoption of the new name Vanuatu.
Location & Neighbourhood:
Located in the South Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu is 1,750km east of Australia. And is 500 km north east of new Caledonia, west of Fiji and South of the Solomon Islands. A “Y” shaped archipelago, its neighbours comprise of Fiji which lies to the east, New Caledonia to the south, and the Solomon Islands to the northwest. Since they are all within the area of the South Pacific hence the term Melanesia. The two largest islands, Espiritu Santo (or Santo) and Malakula, account for nearly one-half of the total land area. They are volcanic, with sharp mountain peaks, plateaus, and lowlands. The larger islands of the remaining half also are volcanic but are overlaid with limestone formations; the smaller ones are coral and limestone
Area:
It has an area of 11,830 sq. km which means. (4,568 sq. miles) and is an archipelago of 83 islands. Its Capital which is Port Vila (on the island of Efate) and has a population of. 33,700. Its other towns include Luganville which is on the island of Espiritu Santo, also known as Santo.Its terrain comprises of mostly mountains of volcanic origin, narrow coastal plains.
Climate:
The place has a tropical oceanic climate and it is influenced by southeastern trade winds, which blow between the months of May and October. The temperatures during daytime are generally in the 70s-80s F/21-32 C, with nights in the 60s-70s F/15-27 C. Southeast trade winds keep the climate nearly ideal. Frequented by Rains throughout the year, it's heaviest in January-April, which is also otherwise known as a hurricane season. Temperatures in Port-Vila range from 25°C (77°F) in winter to 29°C (84°F) in summer. Humidity averages about 74%, and rainfall on Efate is about 230 cm (90 degrees)
Coastline
It has a water expanse of 1,906 square kilometers. The coastline has close-to-surface, close-to-shore species, like sardines, because our fishermen do not have proper equipment.
Natural Resources
Endowed with agricultural resurces and Copra which brings in major this is followed by timber, beef, and cocoa. And exports Kava root extract. It is also a tax haven and Tourism is a key driver of the economy. The country also possesses substantial marine resources. It is international off-shore financial center. Besides it offers a wide range of offshore banking, investment, legal, accounting, and insurance and trust-company services.

Vanuatu’s major trading partners include Belgium, the Netherlands, New Caledonia, France and the USA.
Government
Headed by a President who has primarily ceremonial powers and is elected by a two-thirds majority in an electoral college consisting of members of Parliament and the presidents of Regional Councils. The president serves a 5-year term.The parliament has a 4 year term and has a 52-member unicameral house elected by all persons over 18 years old.
Language
Today Translation india works through its official languages which are English, French and a Pidgin language called Bislama which is widely spoken. Besides there are over 40 other Melanesian languages and dialects that are spoken in entirety
