Geography
South Africa is positioned at the southern tip of the African continent. It is bordered by North Atlantic Ocean to the western south and indian Ocean surrounds it from the eastern south. To the east it shares border with Botswana and rest of the area is surrounded by Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Topography is varied and complex with plateau, savanna, desert, mountains and coastal plains. Interior part of the country mainly covers the region that is abundant in plateau and rimmed by rugged hills.
Total area of the country is 1.2 million sq. km. Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth are the important cities. Pretoria is administrative capital, Cape Town is the legislative capital and Bloemfontein is the judicial capital of the country.
