Climate
Climate is temperate throughout the country, which is considered to be mild and comfortable. Most cities are scattered along the coastal areas, as temperature of these areas remain mild and they receive moderate rainfall and abundant sunshine. Surprisingly, little difference of temperature ranges between North and South Island. January and February are the warmest and July is the coldest month in New Zealand.
The north island generally receives about 150 days of rainfall which makes Northern area ideal place for agriculture and horticulture. Country is rich in biogeographical variations because of its long isolation from rest of the world. Its flora and fauna are extraordinary in the world.
Isolation has had a profound effect on its flora and fauna, which seems to be descending from Gondwanan wildlife. Approximately 80% of the flora found in New Zealand is indigenous genera and occurs only in New Zealand.
New Zealand is the country with most pleasant climate, having collected mild test of all the weather occurring in different parts of the world. Ranging from long beeches of coastal plain to exquisitely beautiful grassland and plateau to magnificent Southern Alps and snow clad mountain peaks.
