Climate
Lithuania’s climate is midway between West European maritime and East European continental climates. There are considerable temperature variations. Summer is warm with relatively mild weather in spring and autumn. Winter, which lasts from November to mid-March, can be very cold with temperatures usually below freezing point. Heavy snowfalls are common during this period. Rainfall is spread throughout the year, but more rain tends to fall on the coast.
