Strategically located in Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan, India is the penultimate destination to students, historians, academicians, scholars and InformationTechnology chips. Its bordering countries include: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, China, Nepal and Pakistan. It dominates South Asian subcontinent and has an important Indian Ocean trade routes; Kanchenjunga, third tallest mountain in the world, lies on the border with Nepal.

As a country its assets lie in its 28 states and 7 union territories and for most Indians as such is a geographical term. It is no more a united nation than the Equator and has a total area of 3,287,590 sq km and has a land which 2,973,190 square kilometers. It has a water expanse of 314,400 square kilometers.
 
Coastline
 
It has a coastline of 7,000 km and has rich mari time reserves. Pisciculture and marine fishing has been the main occupation of coastal fishermen. Apart from it, it is also a haven for Olive-Ridley turtles, oysters and dolphins and continues to be a major source of revenue.
 
Natural Resources
 
Endowed with natural resources India also is becoming a mining destination. Its Black diamond or coal , resources attribute to its being the fourth-largest reserves in the world. The other resources include iron ore, manganese, mica, bauxite, titanium ore. As, it becomes a potential sources for miners and the mining industry chromite, natural gas, diamonds, petroleum, limestone, pose to be an all time boon for people living in all states.

Historically and mythologically it has a great source of heritage and has transcended linguistic barriers. In the words of ,Will Durrants says that:
