Climate
Hungary's climate is temperate, with little variation throughout the country. There are substantial differences among the average temperatures of the four seasons. Winters are relatively short, moderately cold and usually dry, but sometimes brilliant sunny. Snow is not uncommon during the winter months. Usually January and February are the coldest months. The summers are dry and warm, with the hottest months from July to August. Spring starts in early April and is accompanied by lots of showers. Autumns are cool, foggy and rainy.
Average yearly rainfall is about sixty-four centimetres. Distribution and frequency of rainfall is unpredictable. The western part of the country usually receives more rain than the eastern part, where severe droughts may occur in summertime.
