Hong Kong a region in Eastern Asia comprises a collection of islands primarily of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, the New Territories and about 260 more islands. The Kowloon Peninsula is joined to the New territories in the North and the New territories stretch towards the north connecting with mainland China across the Shenzhen River. Lantau is the largest island, while Hong Kong is the second largest and the most populated of all. It is one of the two special Administrative region of the People's Republic of China, the other region is Macau. It also has a very curvaceous coastline with many bays, rivers and beaches.
Victoria Harbor, one of the deepest natural maritime port in the world, separate Hong Kong Island from the Kowloon Peninsula.
Hong Kong was a major colony of the United Kingdom, until it was handed back to its Sovereign region the People's Republic of China in the year 1997. |

| Hong Kong enjoys a Subtropical climate, and fall towards temperate climate for almost half of the year. In March and April it's pleasant, May to August the region is hot and humid, with occasional showers and thunderstorms. January and February are cloudy confronting cold fronts occasionally. During November and December the temperature is comfortable. Hong Kong has an image of being highly urbanized, it is under the efforts to promote green environment. Albeit the wood and water bodies, Hong Kong air ranks as one of the most polluted territory, therefore measures are taken to spread awareness regarding environment protection. |

For Administrative purpose Hong Kong is divided into 18 geographical districts. Central and Western: Eastern, Islands, Kowloon City, Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, North, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Sham Sui Po, Southern, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Wan Chai, Wong Tai Sin, Yau Tsim Mong and Yuen Long. "District council" represents each district, it advices the government of Hong Kong on local matters such as community programs, Public facility, environmental improvements and cultural activities.

95% of the Hongkongers, are of Chinese Descent, Majority of which are Cantonese or from ethnic group such as Teochew and Hakka. Hong Kong's official dialect is a Cantonese, a Chinese language originated from Guangdong province, towards north of Hong Kong. English is also an official language spoken widely by about 38% of the population. The 5% of the total population comprises of the non- Chinese population, mainly the south Asian population (Indians, Nepalese and Pakistanis). There are also a number of Australians, Europeans, Japanese, Canadians, Americans and Koreans in the commercial and the financial sector of the territory.
Hong Kong enjoys Religious freedom, which is actually a Basic Law. 90% of the Population follows eclectic mixture of local religion i.e. Buddhism and Taoism. Other religions practiced are Christianity both Catholics and Protestants, Muslim, Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses and a number of Hindu's, Sikh and Baha'is. |

Hong Kong has a free market, highly capitalistic economy strongly dependent on international trade. Hong Kong is the wealthiest in the region of the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong is recognized as the most free economy in the world. It also has few Natural resources and imports its food and natural resources. Major export commodities are electrical machinery and appliances, textiles, apparel, footwear, watches and clocks, toys, plastics, precious stones, printed material. The economy is dominated by service which accounts to 91.8 %, the industrial sector is backed by 8.1% and agricultural by mere 0.1%.
