| Denmark is in the Northern Europe, situated in the Scandinavian region. Enveloped by Sweden, Germany and Norway, it borders both Baltic and the North Sea. Greenland and Faroe Island are autonomous provinces of Denmark with home rule. Denmark comprises of large peninsula, Jylland a collective number of Islands, also known as the Danish Archipelago, the major once are Falster, Bornholm, Vebdsyssel-Thy, Zealand and hundreds of other minor Islands. Copenhagen, the capital city , includes the Tivoli gardens, the Amalienborg Palace and the little mermaid sculpture. |

Denmark is a Constitutional Monarchy. As regulated in the Danish Constituency, the Monarch is not answerable to any for his/ her action and is not questionable. The Prime Minister and other ministers are appointed by the Monarch. All the bills and important government measures are to be discussed in Statsrådet, a privy council headed by the monarch, before being validated through royal assent.
The executive authorities are exercised by the monarch, while the Prime Minister and the other Cabinet Ministers head the departments. Danish political system is coalition party basis. Anders Fogh Rasmussen has been the Prime minister since 2001, he belongs to the Venstre party, a center-right liberal party. The government formed by the coalition party consisting of various party, the Venstre and the Conservative People's Party and parliamentary support from the Danish people's party. In 10th Century, Denmark was organized as a unified state, and in 1849 became a constitutional monarchy. |

The Danish Economy is highly organized; 75% of the labour forces are members of the trade union. The economy of this country is undergoing strong expansion, primarily because of private consumption growth, supported by exports and investment. Danish economy display high-tech agriculture, up-to-date small-scale and corporate industry, rigorous government welfare measures, comfortable living standards, dependence on foreign trade and a stable currency. The agricultural products to be found here are barley, wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, pork, fish, and dairy products.
The industrial products exported and consumed are iron, steel, nonferrous metals, chemicals, food processing, machinery and transportation equipment, electronics, construction, shipbuilding and refurbishment, windmills, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, textiles and clothing, furniture and other wood products, shipbuilding. The major export commodities are machinery and instruments, dairy products, fish, pharmaceuticals, windmills, meat and meat products, furniture. |

Out of the total Danish population which is under 5.5 million, 91% majority are of Danish descent. The rest of 8.9% are immigrants of the South Asia or the Middle East.
The ethnic group's living in Denmark are Scandinavian, German, Inuit, Faroese, Iranian, Somali, and Turkish. The major religion is Evangelical Lutheran that consists about 95% of the total population, other religion followed are Christian with 3% population and Muslim 2%. The language followed by people is Danish, other minor languages followed are Faroese, Greenlandic (an Inuit dialect), German (small minority). The second predominant language is English. Free access to Primary school, secondary school and most of the higher education has been offered in the Danish education system |

Denmark is in the temperate zone. The winters are not extremely cold, the temperature during January and February is 0.0°C and summers are cool with 15.7°C in August. Strong wind blows during winters and during summers the wind is mild. In November Denmark enjoys the monsoon.
The length of the day with sunlight varies greatly, due to Denmark's northern location. Days are small during winters, with sunrise at around 9:30 am and sunset at 4:30 pm, and during summers days are long with sunrise at 3:30 am and sunset at 10pm.
Denmark has been ruled once by Viking raiders and later a major north European power, Denmark has molded itself into a modern, prosperous nation that is actively involved in the general political and economic integration of Europe. It became a member of NATO in 1949 and the EEC (now the EU) in 1973 |
