China is the country of long and mysterious history having ruled by several dynasties. Xia dynasty is oldest among them. It ruled the country from 21st - 16th century BC. Subsequent dynasties came one after another and ruled China. Prominent among them are Shang Dynasty (16th - 11th century BC), Zhou Dynasty Western Zhou (11th century BC - 771 BC), Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 206 BC), Han Dynasty Western Han (206 BC - 24 AD) , Eastern Han (25 - 220), Three Kingdoms Period (220 – 280), Jin Dynasty Western Jin (265 - 316) Eastern Jin (317 - 420), Northern and Southern Dynasties (386 - 581), Jin Dynasty Western Jin (265 - 316), Sui Dynasty 581 – 618, Tang Dynasty 618 – 907, Jin Dynasty 1115 --- 1234, Yuan Dynasty 1271 --- 1368, Ming Dynasty 1368 --- 1644 and last and most recent dynasty is Qing Dynasty( 1644 --- 1911).

In 1912, Republic of China was established replacing Qing Dynasty. Qing dynasty was last dynasty and it gave the way to democratic establishment peacefully. The country involved into civil war, war with Japan and World War I and II from 1937 to 1950. It has been involving in long battle with its neighbors due to border dispute. It has involved in border conflict with india, resulting in war with india in 1962.
