Geography
The Republic of China is an East Asian country situated to the northeast of india and to the south east of Russia. The country is mostly mountainous and plateau, with some plains in the east. The Hwang Ho, the Yang-tze, the Sikiang, the Mekong, the Tsnah-po (Brahamputra) and the Tarim are important rivers. The Hwang Ho, which often changes its course and causes huge destruction, is known as the “Sorrow of China”. The Tarim is an inland river.
Monsoon enters in China from western Pacific Ocean and eastern indian Ocean to mainland in summer. Summer generally stretches from July to September or October. Perspiration is heavy every year. In some interior regions of the country, heavy rains culminate in destructive flood. People have to face many problems as infrastructure of particular region completely disrupts during food. China lies in Monsoon region. |
