Government
Form of government in Canada is constitutional monarchy. Constitutional is because it is headed by constitutional provisions and monarch in the country is Queen Elizabeth II. Canadian parliament comprises Senate and House of Commons. Senate is upper house with 105 senators appointed by Governor General of Canada on the advice of Prime Minister. House of Commons consists of 308 members. All the 308 members of House of Commons are elected and constitutionally authorized to introduce financial legislations.
Government is distributed into legislative, executive and judicial branches. Legislative branch of government is composed of parliament which encompasses Governor General, prime Minister, Senate and House of Commons.
Canada is a federal country. Power is distributed between the government in Centre and government in provinces and territories. It comprises ten provinces and three territories. All the thirteen provinces and territories are as follow: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. |
