Climate
Bulgaria enjoys a generally favourable climate that is one of the country's best features. The predominant climate in Northern Bulgaria is moderate continental, while in Southern part it is transitional-continental tending to be to Mediterranean. Summers are typically hot and dry, but rarely harsh, with moderate relative humidity. Average temperature in the months of April to September is 23°C Winters are cold but not bitterly so. In the seaside regions Mediterranean influences temper the harsher continental climate of the interior. Winters are milder while summers are much cooler than the interior of the country.
The soft transitional-Mediterranean climate and the fertile soils are very suitable for growing the famous Bulgarian attar yielding rose – a valuable raw material for perfumery, medical and the food, wine and tobacco industries.
