The state of Sao Paulo is economically most dominating state in Brazil as Sao Paulo produces half of the Gross Domestic Product of country. Around two-third of manufacturing units are established only in Sao Paulo. Textile, shoes, chemicals, cement, lumber, tin, steel, aircraft, motor vehicles and parts are important industries.
Although only 5 percent of the total landmass is cultivated, Brazil successfully manages to lead the position of coffee production in the world. It contributes one third of the total coffee produced in the world. Apart from coffee soybeans, wheat, rice, corn, sugarcane, cocoa, citrus are important agricultural products in Brazil.
The country is rich in natural resources. It is large iron and aluminum ore reserve in the world. Brazil has considerable reserve of bauxite, gold, manganese, nickel, phosphate, platinum, uranium, petroleum, hydropower, and timber. |
