Welcome to Australia !

Australia is an island surrounded by Indian and Pacific Ocean. It is the smallest continent in the world in terms of area covering about 7,617,930 kilometer square of landmass. Being the smallest continent; it is the sixth-largest country in the world. Natural beauty is the Australia’s biggest attraction. The landscape ranges from endless sun baked horizons, dense tropical rainforest, snow capped mountains of Tasmania to chilly southern beaches. Cities are scattered along the bitches and living culture in Australia is vibrant with blend of European enthusiasm for food and art. It has great beach weather with sea swarming with box jellyfishes.

Australia has extremely contrast geography. On the one hand, mountains of Tasmania remain covered by thick layer of snow. On the other, 40% of landmass is covered by sand dunes, which calculates that a large portion of Australia is desert or semi arid. It encompasses a wide variety of bio-geographic regions.

Australia’s formal name is Commonwealth of Australia. The states are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. Maximum density of population is concentrated along the eastern and southeastern coast of Australia. The Commonwealth of Australia is a parliamentary democracy. Constitution is federal in nature. Power is distributed among legislative, executive and judiciary. Parliament is bicameral, which consist of Senate and house of representative. Each state of Australia has its own constitution. Thus, Australia has seven sovereign parliaments.

Nation language of Australia is English, spoken and written in a distinct way known as Australian English. Subsequent prominent languages spoken in Australia are Chinese, Italian and Greek. Australia has no state religion. 64% of Australians call themselves Christian, 26% identifying themselves as Roman Catholic and 19% as Anglican.
